Over our 850 hectares of land, we have a wide variety of soils and even microclimates.<\/p>\n

The Rioja Alta<\/strong>, the zone where the Virgen de la Vega vines grow, is characterised by an Atlantic climate.<\/p>\n

This is a climate of mild temperatures and moderate rainfall.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″ dfd_column_responsive_enable=”dfd-column-responsive-enable” col_inner_shadow=”box_shadow_enable:disable|shadow_horizontal:0|shadow_vertical:15|shadow_blur:50|shadow_spread:0|box_shadow_color:rgba(0%2C0%2C0%2C0.35)” col_inner_shadow_hover=”box_shadow_enable:disable|shadow_horizontal:0|shadow_vertical:15|shadow_blur:50|shadow_spread:0|box_shadow_color:rgba(0%2C0%2C0%2C0.35)” responsive_styles=”padding_left_tablet:20|padding_right_tablet:20|padding_left_mobile:20|padding_right_mobile:20″][vc_column_text item_animation=”transition.fadeIn”]In winter, the minimum temperatures are usually around 4\u00ba, except in mountainous areas where they dip below 0\u00ba. In summer, the maximum temperatures do not normally exceed 22\u00ba.<\/p>\n

The soils where we plant our grapes are mostly clayey-chalky.<\/p>\n

This kind of soil nurtures wines with more body that are fuller in the mouth. We also have vineyards close to the river with alluvial soils, which produce lighter wine.<\/p>\n

At Virgen de la Vega, we make all our wines exclusively from these two grapes.<\/p>\n
